Farley Pastoral is a progressive and dynamic farming operation located at Kybybolite, near Naracoorte, in South Australia's South-East. Our well-established family business combines production with innovation; running a large-scale mixed farming enterprise that includes broadacre cropping, a self-replacing ewe flock, and a modern lamb feedlot finishing system. The Role
This is a great opportunity to dive into every aspect of a modern and diverse farming operation that takes great pride in achieving quality and best-practice outcomes, for the land, our animals, our business and team, and our community. In this full-time role, you'll gain hands-on experience across our cropping program, livestock and feedlot operations, and general farm maintenance activities. From operating modern machinery during our peak and growing seasons, to caring for our sheep through their annual cycle, every day brings variety and new challenges.
Other tasks you'll be responsible for include:
* Operating cropping machinery for sowing, spraying, spreading, harvesting, and hay production, including the modern technology used in them to support our best-practice approach
* Assisting with day-to-day sheep operations, including stock movement, feeding and watering, sheep husbandry activities and general livestock care
* Tackling infrastructure projects such as fencing, water systems, and property maintenance.
* Working alongside our team to keep our machinery and equipment in excellent shape.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who understands that farming is more than just a job – it's a lifestyle that demands dedication, adaptability and a genuine passion for the work we do. While some previous farm experience would be valuable, what matters most to us is your positive attitude, team focus, strong work ethic and desire to grow with us.
You'll also bring:

* Excellent communication skills and a team-focused mindset
* An ability to adapt to new technology and practices
* A keen eye for presentation and maintaining neat and tidy work habits
* Experience on a farm, or complementary skills (eg. machinery operation, mechanical, fencing, trades).
* An understanding of farm life realities – physical fitness for demanding outdoor work, variable hours and seasonal demands.
