About The Role
Reporting to the Acting Director Planning and Development, you'll play a key role in protecting public health and ensuring compliance with plumbing legislation and standards.
Your work will include:
• Assessing plumbing applications and plans
• Conducting inspections and compliance audits
• Investigating complaints and undertaking enforcement
• Providing practical advice to contractors and the community
• Maintaining accurate records and statutory registers
This is a varied and autonomous role where no two days are the same.
What We're Looking For
You're a qualified plumber with strong technical knowledge and a practical, solutions-focused mindset. You're confident working independently and comfortable making decisions in a regulatory environment.
Essential:
• Advanced Registered Sanitary Plumber
• Minimum 5 years' trade experience
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (Building Act, NCC, AS/NZS 3500)
• Current driver's licence
• Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance) or willingness to obtain
