Job Overview
We are looking for Software Engineers and Senior Software Engineers to join our Perth Digital Competence Centre (DCC). The role involves working throughout the Software Development Lifecycle – design, implementation, testing and deployment – delivering technical solutions for Government and the Land, Sea, Air and Space domains.
Key Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer, you will:
* Participate in all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle from design through implementation, testing and deployment.
* Collaborate with specialist teams to deliver solutions to government customers.
* Maintain and monitor applications running in cloud environments.
* Implement and support DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in Gitlab.
* Work on full‐stack development and improve UI and UX design.
* Deploy and orchestrate cloud solutions using containerisation and Kubernetes.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Australian citizenship required and eligibility for an AGSVA Security Clearance.
Knowledge & Experience
* Software development methodologies, software architecture and best practices.
* .NET and/or Java with exposure to high‐level languages (Kotlin, C#, C/C++, Python, HTML, CSS, Angular, Javascript, Typescript, React, Node.js, GraphQL).
* Deploying, maintaining and monitoring applications in AWS, Azure or GCP.
* UI and UX design.
* DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in Gitlab.
* Containerisation with Docker or Podman and orchestration with Kubernetes.
* Cloud solution deployment and orchestration.
* Full‐stack development.
* Databases (SQL or NoSQL).
Desirable Skills
* Experience with other high level languages and frameworks beyond .NET and Java.
* Experience in government or defence industry projects.
