The Program
The Employment & Participation Program assists temporary visa holders to connect with work, training and volunteering opportunities. The Program provides resume and job search support, support with interview preparation and education on workplace rights and responsibilities. The Program also assists people to connect with community organisations and social groups.
The Opportunity
For this role you will need:
Good conversational skills and the ability to relate to and empathise with a broad range of people, including those with different lived experiences, abilities, and cultures
The ability to support processes, tasks and resources required to deliver the Program
An overall understanding of Australian workplace culture
To be comfortable using computers and providing administrative support
The ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world's largest humanitarian network.
The Impact
As an Employment & Participation volunteer, you will help to increase the skills of migrants in transition to navigate the Australian job market and improve their social connections.
Application requirements
For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross
To submit this an application you will need provide details for two professional references
The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory. Red Cross can assist you to apply for this check
