In this role, you’ll assess medical claims — including simplified billing and access gap claims — ensuring they’re processed accurately and efficiently. You’ll also provide clear, helpful advice to medical providers on claims and benefits.

Who are we?
Teachers Health was created by teachers for teachers over 70 years ago and is the only health fund exclusively for the education community. As a not‑for‑profit health fund, we exist for our members covering the lives of over 500,000 teachers, education staff & their families.
What will you do?
Some of your main tasks and responsibilities will be;
- Maintain a high standard of claims assessment through accurate, efficient and timely processing of medical claims.
- Provide advice and assistance to health service providers in relation to perks and conditions of the fund.
- Contribute to the effective operations of the Health Insurance Business Unit
- Accurate assessment of simplified billing claims through the verification process and ECLIPSE system
- Compliance with relevant legislation, including the Federal and State Acts
- Correspond with providers via e‑mail, telephone or hard copy mail
What do you need? /What are we looking for?
- Previous claims experience is highly desirable but not essential
- Experience in PHI is highly desirable but not essential
- Experience working in the medical industry would be advantageous
- Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail while managing repetitive or high‑volume workloads
- Previous HAMBS experience would be highly regarded
- Data entry experience would be highly regarded
- A positive can do attitude is a MUST!
- We require you to be either a Permanent Resident or an Australian Citizen
The salary package for this role is $89,544
