Your day-to-day Be the first point of contact for guests upon their arrival at the hotel and leave a lasting impression when they depart.
Perform check-in and check-out duties, manage guest bookings, and maximize up-selling opportunities.
Ensure the accuracy of daily checklists and reports to support the overnight team.
Anticipate guest needs by recording and acting on preferences, and handle messages, requests, questions, and concerns both over the phone and face-to-face.
Acknowledge IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests in person or on the phone.
Strictly adhere to IHG policies concerning the Trade Practices Act, Gifts and Bribery, and Data Privacy.
Follow all procedures within IHG guidelines, emphasizing hotel credit policies.
Be a capable and confident concierge.
Stay informed about local events and share personal experiences to enhance guest engagement.
Assist guests as a porter and valet, helping with luggage and transport needs, and park guests' cars while practicing safe driving techniques.
Identify and report hazards, evaluate associated risks, and participate in designing and implementing hazard control measures.
Maintain a neat and tidy shared workspace and guest areas.
What We Need From You Ideally, have 1 year of previous experience in a Front Office or Guest Services-related role.
Proficiency in Opera system is essential.
A strong background in hospitality operations and experience using Opera to streamline guest services is required.
Qualifications in Hotel Management and/or a Hospitality-related field are preferred.
Experience with Opera Property Management System is highly regarded.
Be literate, tech-savvy, and possess good reading, writing, basic math, and computer skills.
Articulate and a great communicator—warm, welcoming, and approachable.
Fluent in the local language; additional language skills are a plus but not essential.
Strong problem-solving skills to turn potential issues into opportunities.
Maintain a professional appearance through good grooming and hygiene standards.
Be physically fit to be on your feet most of the day, with the ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 23 kg, with equipment support available.
Ability to work effectively in a team, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Hold a current, open Australian driver's license with a clear driving record.
