We're looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant Director to join our leadership team at our 79 -place early childhood service located in Woy Woy, NSW.
As a not-for-profit service, we are deeply committed to supporting children, families, and educators through high-quality, inclusive early learning. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, is confident in supporting day-to-day operations, and is passionate about child safety, quality practice, and educator wellbeing.
About the Role
As Assistant Director, you will work closely with the Nominated Supervisor to lead and support the daily operations of the service. You will play a key role in staff support, family engagement, compliance monitoring, and contributing to a positive and professional workplace culture. You will also step into the Responsible Person role in the Nominated Supervisor's absence.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Nominated Supervisor in ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Law and Regulations, and NSW Child Safe Standards.
Provide day-to-day leadership and mentoring for the educator team.
Contribute to rostering, enrolments, and administration tasks.
Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and staff.
Uphold and promote inclusive, child-centred practices across the service.
Support the implementation of the Educational Program in partnership with the Educational Leader.
Lead by example with strong communication, professional conduct, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
About You
Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved).
Current NSW Working with Children Check and First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certifications.
National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership or senior educator role.
Sound understanding of the EYLF, NQS, and Child Safe Standards.
Eligible to act as Responsible Person in charge.
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
A genuine passion for supporting children's wellbeing and learning in a community-based, not-for-profit setting.
