About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Buyer Support Specialist to join our team in reporting into the Buyer for Platypus. As a key member of our buying process, you'll provide operational support, both administrative and analytical, to drive sales objectives, gross margin, and turnover results.
Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Reporting:
* Deliver trade reports, including weekly sales reports, store sales reports, and trade dashboards.
* Analyze post-season data monthly, quarterly, and bi-annually.
* Provide inventory reports, including warehouse receipts, goods received, and purchase order tracking.
* Support ad-hoc reporting as needed.
2. Buying Process:
* Assist the buyer in creating merchandise strategies for assigned brands and categories.
* Analyze brand and line performance to identify best sellers, slow movers, and areas for improvement.
* Maintain knowledge of current and forward fashion trends, as well as marketplace trends.
* Manage orders to ensure timely delivery and accurate record-keeping.
* Maintain accurate buy plans for assigned portfolio.
3. Brand Partner Relationships:
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with brand partners.
* Represent Accent Group's core values in all brand interactions.
* Establish and maintain effective communication with suppliers to achieve proactive outcomes.
4. Inventory Management:
* Contract management.
* Purchase order entry and maintenance.
* Product hierarchy and data integrity.
* Foster EDI protocol adherence.
* Streamline the delivery process through consistent communication with stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate buy plans for assigned portfolio.
* Share relevant information with stores through appropriate channels.
* Acquire product and new brand knowledge.
* Prepare and review monthly store documents.
* Frequent store visits to understand local markets and gather feedback from store teams.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a Buying administration role and retail environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and AP21.
* Background in a buying role.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Up-to-date knowledge of current market trends.
