About the Role
Fixed‑term contract role of 12 months with a possible extension. Location: Sydney or Melbourne. Hybrid ways of working.
The Senior Delivery Lead role is central to the running of multiple squads to set them up for success in prioritising, planning and executing on transformation initiatives using Scrum or Kanban frameworks. They enable the squads through removing any impediments while facilitating transparency of all the work, progress of sprint goals and capacity to interested stakeholders as well as to the squads themselves.
The role is also responsible for ensuring the squads adhere to agile methodologies and principles and involves organising and facilitating agile ceremonies such as daily scrums, backlog refinement, sprint planning and retrospectives.
On occasion, they will also be expected to assist other Delivery Leads or squads in establishing best practices and agile ways of working wherever coaching is required. This role will operate at an operational and strategic level to:
Responsibilities
* Deliver the roadmap using agile methodology in partnership with business stakeholders.
* Partner with product managers and chapter leads to build and develop a cross‑functional squad.
* Work closely with external teams to plan dependencies and releases of the product.
* Deliver products to customers to improve their experience across digital channels.
* Apply the agile & scrum values and principles in day‑to‑day routine.
* Ensure full participation of all squad members in the delivery of value.
* Lead the planning and facilitation of tribal agile ceremonies of Showcase & Big Room Planning (BRP).
* Facilitate Continuous Improvement practices and team mindset.
* Remove squad blockers with support from the Product Manager or management if needed.
* Ensure team norms are understood and followed.
* Mentor and coach the team to be empowered and instill a proactive, positive and innovative team culture.
* Work closely with Product Managers on prioritisation of the squad backlog to maximise value delivered.
* Maintain the ongoing health of the squad, ensuring it is set up to deliver end‑to‑end outcomes, providing coaching and feedback, ensuring resources are planned effectively and are fully utilised.
* Ensure squads have engaged with business stakeholders (internal customers) insights and feedback during the delivery of their work.
* Work with other product managers to ensure that their squads' backlog is prioritised appropriately to meet cross‑team dependencies.
* Decide whether the work the squads have delivered is ready for release, work with the squads to define criteria for release and be accountable for the quality of the squad's released work.
* Support vendor selections as part of the decision to build or buy product solutions.
Qualifications
* Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with Data and/or AI squads.
* Extensive experience working with commercial partners in a complex, matrix organisation.
* Extensive experience working in an agile organisation or with cross‑functional teams.
* Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Strong ability to prioritise, balancing delivery in the short term while supporting the overall strategy.
* Extensive experience managing complex dependencies and releases.
* Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodology, disciplines and procedures, and ability to help/guide others on the processes.
* Extensive experience in Agile delivery – managing product backlogs, prioritising requests, writing user stories, sprint planning, iterations, retrospectives and stand‑ups.
* Eye for detail, and ability to quickly understand requirements and help the team articulate correctly to form the basis for sprint planning with focus on delivering a quality outcome.
* Extensive experience working and using Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, DevOps).
* Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams across Endeavour.
* Flexibility required to build and maintain the roadmap.
