What's the role?
As the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Lead, you'll play a key part in keeping Westpac's people safe by combining your HSW expertise with strategic thinking and hands-on delivery. You'll partner closely with business leaders and our People Teams to support the execution of HSW strategy, plans and initiatives at both divisional and Group level. This role suits someone who is comfortable influencing senior leaders, translating risk into action, and running multiple initiatives end-to-end.
In this role, you will:
* Lead the implementation of targeted health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across the Westpac Group.
* Develop targeted solutions for business units to improve safety and wellbeing performance, using key performance indicators to guide priorities.
* Support the development of the HS&W Plan and tailor Group-wide initiatives to match specific business risks.
* Provide subject matter expertise and advice to General Managers and leadership teams, with a strong focus on psychosocial safety and barriers to wellbeing and performance.
* Support key Group safety and wellbeing responses, including designing interventions to address emerging risks, particularly psychosocial safety.
* Lead multiple concurrent safety and wellbeing projects across the full lifecycle, from shaping the approach through to delivery and embedment.
* Build strong relationships at General Manager level and across relevant business unit leaders.
What do I need?
We're looking for someone who can combine credibility, practicality, and influence. You will likely have:
* Demonstrated experience in a related discipline such as safety, wellbeing, organisational psychology, HR, or project management.
* Strong understanding of Health, Safety & Wellbeing management and confidence influencing at General Manager level.
* Strong business and commercial acumen, with a track record of delivering timely, business-focused solutions.
* A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to respond to shifting priorities without losing delivery discipline.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into insights that leaders can act on.
* Solid knowledge of HS&W principles, including psychosocial risk factors.
