Strategic Health and Safety Specialist
We are seeking a highly experienced professional to join our team as a Strategic Health and Safety Specialist. As a key member of our risk management team, you will be responsible for providing expert advisory and implementation support to clients across various industries.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled health and safety professional to work with a range of clients, including government agencies and non-profit organisations. You will be responsible for assessing current health and safety practices, identifying gaps and opportunities, and developing tailored solutions to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with clients to assess current health and safety practices and identify gaps and opportunities.
* Provide strategic advice and practical support to implement integrated safety frameworks covering both physical and psychological health.
* Interpret and apply relevant legislation and regulatory guidance to client contexts.
* Develop and deliver tailored health and safety programs that reflect the values and operating environments of clients.
* Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and incident reviews to support continuous improvement in both physical and psychosocial safety.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in Work Health and Safety, People and Culture, Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Risk Management, or Regulatory Compliance.
* Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health, Organisational Psychology, Behavioural Science, or a related discipline.
* Knowledge of WHS legislation, including the Model WHS Act, OHS Act 2004, and Psychological Health Regulations.
* Proven ability to apply ISO 45001 and ISO 45003 frameworks and Safe Work Australia guidance in practical settings.
* A highly organised and proactive team member keen to support on 2-3 client projects at any one time.
