Who we are
Johnson Winter Slattery (JWS) is known throughout the market as a leading full-service commercial law firm. We work on high-profile and complex transactions and disputes, always with a focus on commercial outcomes. We are a firm of more than 400 people, including 85+ partners with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth.
We were named 'Technology, Media and Telecom M&A Legal Adviser of the Year' in the Mergermarket M&A Awards Australia 2023 and received awards for client service excellence from Beaton Consulting, based on independent client feedback. Our lawyers and practice groups are highly ranked in all the major legal directories, including Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500.
About the Team
Our Secretarial team is critical to the success of our Partners and Practitioners. Our secretaries bring with them a diverse range of legal secretarial experience across all areas of commercial law, and are committed to providing high level, efficient, and effective secretarial support.
About the Role
An opportunity exists for a Legal Secretary with at least five years’ Legal Secretarial experience to join our Brisbane office. Supporting the Energy & Resources and Corporate & Finance teams, you will provide high-level secretarial support including, but not limited to; diary management, travel arrangements, document drafting and amending, billing and other ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Our Brisbane office is a welcoming and collaborative office that fosters a supportive and high-performing environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a tight-knit secretarial community where everyone supports each other and you can develop long-lasting relationships over team lunches, Friday drinks and firm funded 'coffee with colleagues'.
About You
You obviously have plenty of previous relevant experience, but there is much more to you. You:
* have a minimum of three years' experience delivering high-level legal secretarial support with a client focused outlook;
* work well under pressure, meet your deadlines and excel working autonomously;
* have strong internal and external communication skills; and
* take a collaborative, positive and energetic approach.
