Beca HunterH2O is the Australian water business of one of Asia Pacific's largest independent advisory, design and engineering consultancies, Beca. We are a formidable team of 300+ water specialists, passionate about healthy and sustainable communities wherever we work. We collaborate with our clients through city and regional offices operating in Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle, Tamworth, Brisbane and Adelaide. The opportunity is to join our team as a Mechanical Designer for a permanent full- or part-time arrangement. The role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle or Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities
* Import & manipulate vendor drawings/models.
* Produce detailed mechanical drawings/models including P&ID's.
* Export equipment/piping quantities.
* Collaborate with Mechanical/Process engineers to deliver plans for construction.
* Support project teams with documentation, revisions and coordination of drawings/models.
* Establishing & maintaining design templates and drawing standards.
* The roles can be offered on a permanent full or part time basis as we encourage our people to find an arrangement that works for them.
About You
You'll be seeking fulfilment through autonomy, career flexibility, and working for a business that provides purpose and relevance in what you do. With outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence and drive successful project outcomes, you'll have experience working in a consulting environment, delivering projects as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-office team.
Qualifications
* Relevant TAFE qualifications, diploma, or degree in drafting, engineering, or design
Skills And Experience
* Proficient with CAD and Autodesk Plant 3D
* Experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, operational practices, and relevant Australian standards
* Strong attention to detail
* Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills
* Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team
