About the role
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Lead to take ownership of our warehouse and dispatch operations. This is a hands-on, senior role for someone who genuinely likes running a tight ship .. keeping stock accurate, orders moving out the door, systems tidy and the warehouse humming along nicely.
With the business evolving and major retail partnerships now in place, this role will play a key part in tightening systems, improving processes and bringing more structure to warehouse operations.
You'll be trusted to work autonomously, have excellent attention to detail, take full responsibility, spot problems before they become problems, and get stuck in wherever needed. If you like knowing exactly what's going on in your warehouse at all times, you'll feel very at home here
This role is based at our HQ in Northgate.
About she wear
We are an Australian footwear brand creating supportive, quality shoes for women who are on their feet all day.
We run the business from our Brisbane HQ, focusing on comfort, fit and function across our work, safety and lifestyle ranges. Quality matters to us .. in our products, our systems and how we operate day-to-day. We're a small, close-knit team who take pride in what we do and support each other to get the job done.
Duties include (but not limited to) ..
* Pick, pack and dispatch of orders for direct-to-consumer, corporate and wholesale customers .. yes, you'll be on the tools
* Owning warehouse accuracy and outcomes, including investigating and resolving dispatch or stock issues before they become bigger problems
* Quality assurance and detailed inspection of all products prior to dispatch
* Reviewing, rebuilding and taking ownership of warehouse systems and IMS processes to support increased volume and retail requirements
* Overall organisation, planning and co-ordination of the warehouse (if you like tidy systems, you'll enjoy this)
* Managing regular stocktakes and cycle counts, and investigating discrepancies .. our IMS and shelves need to match
* Co-ordinating inbound shipments and stock, including communication with shipping agents, unloading containers and receipting .. sometimes it's physical, sometimes it's logistical, often it's both
* Managing stock movements between Northgate HQ and our retail store at Hamilton
* General warehouse administration and operational duties, including maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse
* Regularly reviewing warehouse layout and processes to improve efficiency and space utilisation
* Flagging risks, delays or issues early and communicating clearly with the wider team .. surprises are fun at birthdays, not in warehouses
* Assisting with customer enquiries relating to orders or delivery when required
* Providing guidance and direction to casual warehouse staff when required
You will ..
* Have at least 5 years' experience in a warehouse, logistics or fulfilment role, with the ability to operate confidently at a more senior level
* Be highly organised and efficient, with excellent attention to detail and time management skills .. you notice the small stuff
* Enjoy walking into an environment where systems need tightening and seeing it as an opportunity, not a problem
* Be a confident self starter who can work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes
* Be comfortable working hands-on in a warehouse environment on a daily basis, physically fit and able to lift boxes of up to 25kg
* Have strong computer skills and be comfortable working across inventory systems and software
* Be calm, practical and solutions-focused, with the ability to think outside the box when things don't go to plan
* Be able to work collaboratively within a busy small team
* Be comfortable learning, questioning and improving systems rather than working around them
* Hold a current driver's license, with a forklift licence a bonus
* Be the kind of person who gets things done and takes pride in doing them properly
What you'll get ..
* A hands-on role where your work genuinely makes a difference day-to-day
* Ownership and responsibility across warehouse and dispatch operations
* A down to earth, supportive team (no corporate fluff here)
* The opportunity to improve systems, processes and how the warehouse runs
* Shoe perks for you or your loved ones .. obviously
We love to have a bit of fun and are proud of our team culture, so a positive "can do" attitude is just as important to us. Business needs change day to day, so it's important we have the right people in our business who are happy to "get stuck" in and get their hands dirty. We are a small, close team and help each other out when required
Our HQ is in a great location with easy access to cafes, parking and public transport.
Please note: Applications without a cover letter will not be considered. Please tell us a bit about yourself, why you think you're a good fit, and what you'd bring to this role and the team.
