Job Overview:
Mental health support workers play a vital role in helping individuals with severe and persistent mental illness to achieve their recovery goals. They work within the recovery model, using a holistic and person-centered approach that is tailored to each individual's needs.
* Assist with assessments of consumers and develop individualized recovery plans based on specific goals and objectives
* Provide direct support to consumers with mental illness, helping them to access necessary resources and services
* Collaborate with carers, family members, clinicians, and community organizations to review and update consumer recovery plans as needed
Key Requirements:
* Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health or related field
* Experience working with consumers who have severe and persistent mental illness
* Understanding of the principles of recovery-oriented mental health practice
* Ability to develop and implement individualized support plans that meet the unique needs of each consumer
* A current full driver's license
