Position: Chef – Full-Time
Salary: $76,000 – $78,000 + Superannuation
About the Role
The Chef will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of menu items to the highest standard, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency during service. The role involves supervising kitchen operations, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to menu development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook dishes in accordance with restaurant standards and recipes.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen operations to ensure efficient workflow.
- Check the freshness, quality, and presentation of ingredients and dishes.
- Assist in developing and updating seasonal menus and specials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to food safety and WHS regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste.
- Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff to uphold performance and service standards.
- Collaborate with management to ensure smooth communication between front and back-of-house teams.
- Maintain accurate records related to food preparation, storage, and hygiene compliance.
Skills & Experience
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of modern Australian cuisine and current culinary trends.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks during busy service periods.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail and a genuine passion for food and presentation.
