Your new role
This role suits an experienced Carpenter who will play a key part in delivering high-quality residential projects, with occasional commercial works, primarily focused on renovations in high-end central suburbs. Working closely with the broader site team and management, the role is responsible for interpreting plans, coordinating daily site activities, maintaining workmanship standards, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to client expectations. You will take a hands-on leadership position, supervising an apprentice and a junior team member, providing guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training to support their development. The role contributes directly to the company's reputation for quality, reliability, and strong client relationships, acting as a trusted on-site representative. Experience with renovations is essential, with some exposure to steel framing advantageous. Ideally suited to someone five years post-trade, this position includes a company vehicle and offers the opportunity to step into a more senior, responsibility-driven role within a stable, professional team.
What you'll need to succeed
* Trade qualified Carpenter
* Minimum of five years post-trade experience preferred
* Strong background in high-end residential renovations and extension work
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately
* Proven capability to lead, mentor, and supervise an apprentice and junior team member
* High standard of workmanship with strong attention to detail and finish quality
* Experience coordinating daily site activities and managing small site teams
* Sound understanding of WHS requirements and safe work practices
* Confidence working independently while collaborating closely with supervisors and trades
* Strong communication skills for client interaction and on-site coordination
* Professional, reliable, and proactive approach to problem solving
