Job Summary
Specsavers Stawell is hiring a part‐time Optical Assistant (20‐25 hours per week) with flexible weekend availability. The role may require occasional work at the sister store in Horsham.
Responsibilities
* Greet, guide and book customers, handling queries and managing appointments.
* Support optometrists: conduct pre‐testing and assist during eye examinations.
* Dispense glasses, selecting lens options tailored to customer needs as a frame styling specialist.
* Champion the customer experience, ensuring customers leave satisfied.
Training & Career Development
* Full on‐the‐job training in optical dispensing and customer service.
* Opportunity to work towards a Cert IV in Optical Dispensing with full funding (eligibility and completion requirements apply).
* Potential promotion to In‐Store Trainer or Supervisor roles.
Requirements
* Passionate about customer service and improving patient vision.
* Experience in retail or optometry preferred, but full training will be provided.
* Excellent communication skills, able to build rapport with diverse customers.
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
