The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Performance and Audit works in collaboration with the Principal Advisor Quality Improvement to provide support to SCHHS staff and clinical networks undertaking clinical improvement projects that may include the following: process redesign, innovation, change management, training and coaching. The Safety, Quality & Improvement team provides a comprehensive service which supports clinical areas to maximise patient safety outcomes, improve the patients care and experience by measuring outcomes; and evaluating service improvement and planning across the Health Service. A key function of the SQI team is to ensure that the Health Service is compliant with legislative, regulatory and policy requirements of governing bodies such as the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and Queensland Health.
**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. 
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) - State 2015 - Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Public Service values. 
- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety. 
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
