**As the Ecologist (PO2), you will**: - Contribute your knowledge and skills to a program of work that will generate and deliver state-wide vegetation site data, BioCondition benchmarks for regional ecosystems and mapping products. Conduct fieldwork for the collection of biodiversity (particularly botanical) data for the development and validation of vegetation type and condition mapping and other biodiversity products such as BioCondition benchmarks from reference sites. Collect, digitise, store and maintain biodiversity data using Queensland Herbarium standards and database storage systems. Assist with research to develop new or improved methods for the assessment of BioCondition benchmarks and vegetation condition at the site and landscape scale. Work both independently and as a member of a team of scientific and technical staff, and contribute to the team's day to day operations, functioning and culture. Contribute to the preparation of online procedures, reports, publications and presentations, and the reporting of data and results. - Join a team working actively together to foster a culture of integrity, diversity and respect, and to develop innovative scientific products to support the conservation of Queensland's biodiversity. Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
