Good People Apparel is a growing Sunshine Coast-based label creating stylish, functional gym wear and casual apparel for adults, with a small kidswear line. We’re passionate about community, creativity, and quality – and we’re expanding! As we grow our apparel range, we’re on the lookout for a junior fashion designer to join us in-house and bring fresh ideas to the table.
The Role:
This is the perfect opportunity for a fashion design student or recent graduate who wants to gain real-world experience, work closely with a local label, and be part of a hands-on, creative environment. You’ll be working alongside our label owner and creative team to help develop new pieces, source fabrics, assist with tech packs, and bring our vision to life.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Designing new apparel pieces across gym wear, casual, and kids lines
• Research current fashion trends, market conditions, and consumer preferences
• Create original clothing, accessory designs using digital tools
• Prepare tech packs and detailed specifications for production teams
• Helping with fabric and trim selection, color palettes, and trend research
• Collaborating on fittings and samples, and providing creative input
• Working on graphics or prints (if you have design skills – bonus!)
• Monitor and manage timelines to meet seasonal deadlines
What We’re Looking For:
• A current student or recent graduate in Fashion Design or a related field
• Passion for streetwear, activewear, or casual fashion
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D)
• Basic understanding of garment construction and design principles
• A can-do attitude, willingness to learn, and love for being part of a small, creative team
• Availability to work part-time or casually remotely or in-house on the Sunshine Coast
