Senior Database and Systems Administrator
The Financial Business Systems unit is seeking a dynamic, eager to learn, and result-driven Senior Database and Systems Administrator with at least 6 years of work experience.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing technical database, analysis, design, implementation, and application administration support in the SQL Server Reporting Services environment.
* Supporting and maintaining SQL servers, including monitoring, backup, data migrations, and upgrades.
* Addressing issues related to database availability and data integrity and actively monitoring database performance.
* Providing technical expertise and advice to achieve specified business objectives in areas of business applications, utilities, relational databases, reporting tools, and other development technologies.
* Providing consultancy services to assist programmers in optimising databases development.
* Building working relationships with customers and team members through effective communication skills and analysing business requirements to provide design guidance and advice.
* Developing, implementing, and maintaining standards, guidelines, and knowledge base articles for database installation, administration, and support while ensuring compliance to change control processes, relevant industry standards, government, and departmental policies.
* Maintaining and securing the MSBI systems by applying and updating MSBI environment certificates and engaging with multiple teams (network operations, security, firewall etc).
This role reports to the Technical Manager, Financial Business Systems. The ideal candidate will have:
* A minimum of 6 years' proven experience in Database and Systems Administration, with experience in SQL report development an advantage.
* An advocate for best practices and business process optimisation and improvement to support the business and Corporate clients within the Department of Education.
* Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with development teams, analysts, and business stakeholders to support departmental initiatives.
* A degree or postgraduate qualification in information technology.
