About the role
Care-Force is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Hobart. In this rewarding role, you'll provide personalised care and support to individuals living with disabilities, empowering them to maintain their independence and lead fulfilling lives. Many of our Participants live with psycho-social disabilities and require complex supports.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and housekeeping. This may include working in Supported Accommodation, with people with complex mental health challenges, and includes overnight shifts.
* Providing companionship and supporting clients in recreational, social activities and working towards their goals.
* Advocating for client needs and collaborating with healthcare professionals and Behaviour Support Practitioners to ensure holistic care.
* Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records, including Incident Reports
* Following all relevant policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure the highest standard of care.
What we're looking for
* Previous experience in disability support, preferably experience working with Participants who live with psycho-social disabilities, or a strong passion for working in the sector.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients.
* A compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature. Flexibility, adaptability and resilience.
* Certificate III in Individual Support or an equivalent qualification.
* Assist Clients with Medication
* A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
* Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and a Working with Vulnerable People check.
