Executive Manager Finance


Full Time

Christian Homes Tasmania Ltd. (CHT) is a not-for-profit provider of aged care services including residential care, community care and independent living housing options. CHT is committed to excellence in all aspects of care and services.

We are seeking an experienced, strategic and values-driven Executive Manager Finance to join our Executive Team. This role provides leadership across the organisation's financial governance and sustainability and works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive team to support high-quality, sustainable aged care services.

Purpose of the role


The Executive Manager Finance is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of the organisation's financial operations, governance and compliance. The role actively contributes to executive decision-making and supports the organisation's long-term stability and growth in a complex, highly regulated aged care environment.

As a member of the Executive Team, the Executive Manager Finance operates within a collective leadership model. While each executive brings professional expertise and portfolio accountability, organisational decisions are developed collaboratively, with shared responsibility for strategic direction, operational outcomes and organisational risk.

The role requires a willingness to engage in robust, professional discussion, contribute beyond functional boundaries, and support executive decisions once agreed, in the best interests of the organisation as a whole.


Key responsibilities include

* Providing strategic financial leadership to support the delivery of high-quality aged care services
* Leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial sustainability
* Ensuring compliance with all legislative, regulatory, funding and reporting requirements
* Preparing accurate and timely financial reports for the Board, Executive and external stakeholders
* Acting as a financial adviser to the CEO providing clear analysis and recommendations
* Managing cash flow, capital expenditure, funding arrangements and financial risk
* Leading audit processes and engagement with external auditors and regulators
* Partnering with operational leaders to promote financial accountability and value for money
* Providing executive oversight of property and compliance functions, including budgetary governance
* Leading, mentoring and supporting the finance team to foster a positive and collaborative culture
* Actively participating in executive discussions, strategic planning and change management


The successful candidate will demonstrate

* Proven experience leading a finance function at a senior or executive level
* Strong financial governance, compliance and risk management capability
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage at executive and board level
* The ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* High levels of adaptability, integrity and professionalism
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills and the ability to manage competing demands
* Knowledge of the aged care sector or experience working in a highly regulated environment (desirable)


Essential requirements

* Minimum of five (5) years' experience leading a finance team or equivalent role
* Bachelor of Business (Accounting) or equivalent tertiary qualification
* CPA or CA qualification
* Valid and satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check (with NDIS endorsement) or willingness to obtain
* Valid Australian work entitlements
* Valid Australian driver's license


Desirable

* Experience working within a Leadership Team within Aged Care, Not for Profit sector or similarly complex, highly regulated sectors
* Experience with Inerva Accounting Software
