The role
This position provides a unique opportunity for a GP with an interest in Dermatology to join the dermatology team at Townsville Hospital and Health Service and help provide specialist services to our community.
For the successful candidate, you will primarily work in an outpatient setting, caring for patients with skin disease of varying levels of complexity, as well as playing a key role in those requiring skin cancer surveillance.
The dermatology team will draw on the skills that you've previously learned in General Practice, and support you to substantially build on these, to become a community leader in our specialty. You can expect to develop additional skills through a mix of clinical exposure, interaction and teaching from a supervising dermatologist and self-directed learning. You will also be welcome at all departmental and educational meetings within the service.
You will help our service to better connect with the wider community of General Practitioners and help build better integrated models of care. Finally, you will contribute to some of the many research projects underway in our department.

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements including:
* Salary range: $110.54 - $161.87 p.h. (casual rate) (L13-L27)
* 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
* Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
* Qualified as a medical practitioner and current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Fellowship of either the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACCRM) or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
* Qualified with Advanced Specialist Skills.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstration the following:
* Demonstrable interest in dermatology and commitment to further learning.
* Able to autonomously perform routine skin checks.
* Willingness to address a combination of skin cancer problems, as well as other areas of dermatology.
* Ability to add bring new skills to our team, particularly in subspecialty interests in Dermatology.
* Willingness to contribute to clinical trials being conducted within the department.
* High level of professional integrity.
* Excellent communication skills
* Capacity to help create a bridge between our service and General Practice.
