About us
Katherine Country Club is a friendly, fast-paced hospitality venue with bar, bistro, and gaming services. We’re looking for an experienced Bar Duty Manager to lead our front‑of‑house team and keep service humming on busy shifts.
The role
You’ll run the floor during your shift—coaching bar staff, delivering standout customer service, and ensuring compliant, safe service of alcohol and gaming. You’ll also jump on the tools when needed and set the tone for a clean, well-stocked, and welcoming venue.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and support bar staff; provide on‑shift training and direction.
- Oversee on‑floor gaming operations (Keno, TAB/Ubet, pokies resets, checks, hopper top‑ups).
- Deliver excellent customer service; resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Prepare and serve beverages; take accurate orders and process payments.
- Monitor patron behaviour; check IDs; manage RSA/RSG obligations and venue safety.
- Maintain stock levels with correct rotation; keep work areas clean and organised.
- Open/close the bar (reconcile tills, secure areas, complete cleaning).
What you’ll bring (Essential)
- Current RSA and RSG.
- Current Machine Manager Licence; Keno and TAB/Ubet certificates.
- Proven supervisory or bar management experience.
- Solid OHS awareness in hospitality/gaming environments.
- Strong communication, cash handling, literacy/numeracy, and POS skills.
- A calm, positive approach under pressure; great organisation and attention to detail.
- Reliability and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
Nice to have (Preferred)
- Experience in a similar role.
- Any of Machine Manager, Keno, or TAB/Ubet certificates not already held.
