About the job
The Company
The Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to fostering a nation of creative problem solvers through mathematics and algorithmics. Established in 1992, AMT has a proud history of inspiring and challenging students, teachers and the wider community through world-class programs and competitions.
The role
The new CEO will require a deep appreciation and enthusiasm for AMT’s mission. The role offers tremendous opportunities for a collaborative, forward-looking leader to work with an effective Board to guide future opportunities and realise the potential of the Trust, locally and internationally. A background in mathematics or a related discipline is preferred, while the ability to maintain a positive culture across a dispersed, national team will be key.
At the heart of AMT is a passionate and dedicated national community of 80 staff and 190 volunteers. The Board is now seeking a new CEO who will champion its volunteer community and foster an inclusive, values-driven culture in the broader team. They should be an energetic and mission-driven leader, able to cultivate relationships and engage at all levels – educators, students, institutional and commercial partners and government stakeholders.
Position location
The AMT headquarters are in Canberra and the preference is for the CEO to be in Canberra, although other flexible arrangements can be considered for the preferred candidate.
