Toll Aviation is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Head of Fixed Wing Engineering to lead our fixed wing engineering operations across Australia. This senior leadership role is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational delivery of all engineering, maintenance, and compliance activities related to our fixed wing fleet, which includes King Air and PC-24 aircraft.
As the Head of Fixed Wing Engineering, you will play a critical role in aligning engineering capabilities with Toll Aviation's strategic objectives, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and regulatory compliance, while fostering a high-performance culture within the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership and direction across all Fixed Wing engineering and fleet management activities
* Ensure adequate resourcing—personnel, finances, facilities, tooling, materials, and equipment—to meet maintenance authorisations and regulatory requirements
* Lead compliance with CASA regulations and maintain the highest standards of airworthiness and maintenance quality
* Champion continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and performance
* Ensure current maintenance data and airworthiness directives are appropriately managed
* Establish effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership
* Lead audits, regulatory reviews, and interface with aviation authorities
About You:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Advanced Diploma in Aviation Maintenance Management (Mechanical or Avionics), or relevant equivalent
* Proven senior leadership experience in aviation engineering or maintenance (e.g., Senior Base Engineer or Engineering Manager)
* Extensive experience within EMS (Emergency Medical Services) fixed wing operations
* Deep understanding of CASA Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR, CASR, and associated guidance material)
* Ability to hold a Secret clearance and an ASIC required
* Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical detail for non-technical stakeholders.
* Collaborative leadership style with a focus on mentoring and team development
* Engineering experience within both rotary and fixed wing EMS operations would be an advantage
