In your application, please address the following items:Which role you are applying forHow you meet the requirements for being successful in this roleWhy you want the rolePurpose of Job The main purpose of this function is to provide leadership to your local team to ensure alignment to company strategy, initiatives, vision, and culture. You will be the advocate of the business both internally within Stantec and externally to clients and professional organisations.You will be aware of the local market and the project pipeline that feeds your team. You will typically lead or support with positioning and proposal efforts depending on the scale and complexity of the opportunity. Proposals solely limited to your team as a core service is typically led by you or a delegated team member. You will work closely with the Business or Group Leader, Market Leader, and Practice Leaders in your efforts.You will ensure your team is fully utilised on projects or when in periods of low project work, focus on activity that creates value. You will work with the PMCL and PMs to ensure projects are adequately resourced to meet project requirements and that your team is trained and appropriately skilled.You will work collaboratively with Regional Business or Group Leaders and other team leaders to continually seek work for your team.You will lead and provide a team culture aligned with Stantec core values that promotes the strategic intent of the business including a customer service and delivery focus.The culture will encourage and support the professional development reports. Additionally, you will provide a safe reporting line for your reports through to HR, Safety, Group and Business Leads as required.The Acting Team Leader position is a function, in addition to an employee's substantive technical/project contribution role.Support in Operations and PerformanceSupport the Group Leader with monitoring and reporting on the performance of the business unit.Work with the Group Leader in preparing annual BC business plans.Contribute to achieving backlog targets specific to your team within your region.Work with partner Team Leaders (TLs) in other regions to drive collaboration and work sharing across the BC.Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the correct staffing level and shape based on current and future workloads for their team, and to support needs of other regions where required.Ensure allocated projects and proposals are planned, programmed and appropriately managed to meet or exceed client expectations.Perform regular administrative tasks of the role including reviews and approvals of weekly timesheets, expense claims, leave applications and IT acquisition requests.Complete onboarding tasks for new starters and out boarding for exiting staff.Responsible for achieving personal utilization rate.Other duties as reasonably required.Client Focus/Business Development and CollaborationInitiate and manage business development opportunities, actively participate in and lead client service through establishing and maintaining strong relationships.Develops a presence in the market with reputation and client relationships to help position for future work.Coordinate resource and technical development requirements with Practice Leaders, Technical Discipline Leaders and other Team Leaders based both locally and in other Australian Offices.Lead and/or review proposals for pricing, approach and methodology, variation estimates and submission documents, and review and evaluate subconsultant tender response submissions to ensure they are suitable.LeadershipParticipate in projects as either Project Manager, Project Technical Leader or other substantive technical or delivery role.Develop the team's skills and experience through appropriate training development, mentoring and guidance.Review and monitor staff to ensure performance objectives are being met, staff are engaged, performance issues are managed promptly, an awareness of mental health, and the general well-being of the staff.Foster a success-oriented environment within the team by displaying collaborative behaviours and exerting measured and balanced influence.Uphold a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, encourages individual integrity, and focuses on the customer and service delivery.Promote a happy, supportive, and inclusive team culture aligned with the core values to support the strategic intent of the business.Monitor and drive efficiency of staff on billable work to maximise utilisation.Assist the BL or GL managing performance and compensation of the team through yearly employee performance reviews.Ensure all team members have a clear path towards MIPENZ/CPEng/RPEQ/Relevant Chartered Status (in specialty field), where appropriate.Health and SafetyResponsible for the health and safety performance within their teams, including the monitoring of leading and lagging indicators.Partner with Health Safety Security Environment (HSSE) to ensure all company safety procedures, legal requirements and specific Health & Safety Regulations are met.Achieve minimum LISI target set by the RD for the annual periods.Quality and InnovationWork with project delivery teams and Practice Leaders to drive quality and timely delivery of project deliverables to meet but preferably to exceed client expectations.Work with the Business Leader to ensure that QSE requirements are met.Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.Minimise and control risk by commitment to the Stantec Risk Management Policy, Quality, and Health & Safety programmes and ensuring proactive use of our project management systems.Education & ExperienceA Bachelor's degree with a minimum of Seven years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.Professional registration in a related field.The Acting Team Leader is not a stand-alone position, it is a series of value-adding duties (on top of a substantive position) with an expectation that the duties will take, on average, up to no more than 8-12 hours per week.The person's substantive position in their discipline and Business Unit does not change, compensation is based on their substantive position and is reviewed in accordance with Company Policy.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.#J-18808-Ljbffr
