Lead Government Relations Professional
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Lead Government Relations professional to join our team in shaping the future of a thriving, connected and sustainable city.
Your Responsibilities
* Manage Council's relationships with all levels of government and other key stakeholders
* Drive strategic advocacy outcomes that advance the city's priorities
* Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with Ministerial offices, State and Federal Members, senior government officials, and internal and external stakeholders
* Advise on sensitive political and reputational issues
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Strong experience in or around local government or state / federal government
* A deep knowledge of political environments and government processes
* An appreciation of broad, city-building topics such as infrastructure, planning, transport, accessibility, community development, and sustainable growth
* Tertiary qualifications in policy, political science, public relations, business, economics or a related field

Other Information
A current C Class Driver's Licence is also required, along with the ability to work flexibly, including some engagements outside standard business hours when needed.
