Treatment Technician Role Overview
As a Treatment Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the region's water supply and sewage treatment systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and maintain treatment plants, reservoirs, booster stations, and sewer pumping stations to ensure they meet industry standards and requirements.
* Test and analyze water and sewage chemical characteristics to identify areas for improvement.
* Develop and implement effective testing schedules to optimize treatment plant performance.
* Participate in an on-call roster to respond to service failures after hours and on weekends.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date computer databases and schedules.
Requirements
* Certificate III in Water Operations (Treatment) or equivalent qualification within two years of employment.
* Proven experience working in the water industry, particularly in treating water and wastewater.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* General administrative skills demonstrating literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills.
* Experience with SCADA/telemetry systems.
