About the Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to be part of an emergent practice area at the intersection of Defence, law, and international security. We seek lawyers with excellent legal skills, strategic thinking about defence and security environments, and a commitment to meaningful work and national interests. Advisory skills, client guidance on evolving technology, political, and policy trends, and liaison abilities are highly valued. You will collaborate with agencies and key staff in the defence and national security community, supporting Australia's sovereign and strategic industrial capabilities within projects, acquisition, and international regulatory regimes. You will be part of a practice leveraging the capabilities of a national, independent, full-service law firm, working alongside top-tier lawyers and partners.

We invite expressions of interest from lawyers at all levels, especially those with experience in or with the Department of Defence, Commonwealth Government, or the national security sector. Opportunities are available in multiple locations including Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth, Darwin, Adelaide, and Newcastle.
Candidate Profile
* 2 to 8 years of post-admission experience
* Experience with Commonwealth government matters is valued but not essential
* Interest in public sector work and contributing to our Commonwealth government practice
* Possession of NV1 or higher security clearance is highly regarded
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, managing a busy workload and running matters confidently
