Spry Support Services is an NDIS provider that specialises in the delivery of high-quality disability support services to people in Australia.
We support children and adults with sensory, intellectual, neurological, physical, and psychiatric disabilities. We offer a range of services to improve the general quality of life and assist with daily living requirements and ultimately work with you to achieve your goals.
We are currently seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team on Kangaroo Island, Kingscote SA 5223 and Penneshaw SA 5222.
We are looking for a client-focused individual, who has a keen interest in the disability sector and looking to work in a supportive and collaborative environment.
About the Role:
As a support worker you will be required to be self-directed and can work unsupervised. The position requires you to work as part of a team without direct supervision for extended periods of time. You will have a commitment to working with people with highly complex needs.
About You:
* A passion for caring for people.
* Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
· Experience supporting clients with disability and/or mental health diagnosis.
* Passion for working with people with disabilities.
* Knowledge of person-cantered practice and approaches
* Ability to work across a 7-day roster which includes weekends & sleepovers.
* Excellent Customer Service skills
* Excellent communication skills & knowledge of non-verbal communication techniques
Essential Criteria:
* Current First Aid Certificate
* Current South Australia Driver's License
* WWCC for paid employment
* NDIS Worker Check
* Current Police Check
* Preferably Cert IV in Disability, Youth Work, Community services or related fields
* The legal right to work in Australia.
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $50.00 – $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 10 per week
