Based in their Sydney head office, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the payroll function.

Key Responsibilities (What You'll Achieve)
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of payroll officers, fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.
* Drive the end-to-end processing of weekly and fortnightly payrolls for a very large workforce across multiple sites and states.
* Serve as the subject matter expert for all payroll-related matters, including the interpretation of complex Enterprise Agreements and modern awards.
* Champion the continuous improvement of payroll processes, identifying opportunities for automation and system optimisation to support the company's growth.
* Ensure 100% compliance with all payroll tax, PAYG, superannuation, and other legislative requirements.
* Partner with senior leadership, Finance, and HR to provide analytical insights and contribute to strategic business projects.
Essential Qualifications (What You'll Bring)
* Extensive experience managing large-scale, complex payroll operations (ideally 2,000+ employees) in a blue-collar environment.
* Proven leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing successful payroll teams.
* A deep and practical understanding of Australian payroll legislation, modern awards, and complex Enterprise Agreements.
* Demonstrated experience in driving payroll process improvements and/or systems implementation.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
* Direct industry experience within cleaning, security, facilities management, or related property services.
