The Opportunity
This is a newly created role in Australia, taking over the reigns from their Singaporean subsidiary. A standalone role based in Sydney, ideal for a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to build something from the ground up. Reporting to the Country Manager Australia with a dotted line to the Deputy CFO (offshore), you'll play a critical role in shaping and managing all financial functions locally.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including transactions, expenses, and income
* Perform daily bookkeeping: bank reconciliations, AP/AR management, and financial data accuracy
* Ensure integrity of the general ledger and conduct monthly balance sheet reviews
* Monitor and report on key financial management indicators, resolving issues within set timelines
* Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries to inform decision-making
* Monitor and update weekly cash flow; proactively flag concerns to Deputy CFO
* Stay updated on accounting standards and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
* Oversee all local tax matters and legislative compliance
* Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely production of the Audit Financial Statement (AFS)
* Provide weekly financial updates to the Country Manager and support with cost control activities
* Complete ad hoc tasks and analysis as requested by the Deputy CFO
What You Bring
* A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Accountancy, or a related field
* Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting experience in (food) manufacturing or similar industry.
* Expert knowledge and experience with SAP (Accounting)
* A strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* High attention to detail, results-focused, and deadline-driven
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
* Confident operating autonomously while managing accountability and task delegation
* Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
