About The Opportunity
Come work with us as a Diesel Mechanic and play a vital role in maintaining Council's modern and diverse fleet of vehicles, plant and equipment.
You will:
* Carry out servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a wide range of fleet vehicles, plant, and machinery (diesel and petrol).
* Participate in the on-call roster and undertake overtime when required.
* Use Council's fleet maintenance system to accurately record work and service data.
* Ensure a high level of training and supervision of all apprentices within this role, contributing to the development of future tradespeople.
* Uphold high standards of workmanship, safety, and efficiency in both workshop and field environments.

Key Selection Criteria:
* Trade qualification in mechanical engineering with experience in diesel and petrol engines.
* Demonstrated Post-trade experience in a mixed fleet environment.
* Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with sound knowledge of relevant tools and equipment.
* Experience with workshop/fleet maintenance systems and record-keeping.
* Class C Drivers Licence (HR Licence and forklift ticket highly desirable).
* Dual trade in diesel mechanic/auto electrical highly regarded.
