About the role
As a Junior Estimator/ Estimating Administrator at Thomasz Design and Construction, you will play a crucial role in supporting our construction projects by accurately estimating costs and materials. This full-time position is based in our East Perth office, offering flexible hours to suit your lifestyle.
What you'll be doing
1. Preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on plans, specifications, and other project documentation
2. Calculating quantities and costs of materials, labour, and equipment required for projects
3. Collaborating with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates
4. Identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and providing recommendations to improve project profitability
5. Maintaining a comprehensive database of cost information and historical project data
6. Assisting with the preparation of bids and proposals
What we're looking for
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
2. At least 1-2 years of experience in a construction estimating role, preferably in the residential or commercial sectors
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
4. Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
6. A passion for the construction industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
