Wind Turbine Installation – Electricians
Aurora Energy is seeking Grade A qualified Electricians with Wind Turbine Experience to join our team on a casual basis for work on our project near Dalby/Kingaroy, QLD
The role of the Wind Technician encompasses the installation, mechanical and electrical completions, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbines at a wind farm site. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The Wind Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functionality of wind turbines and compliance with industry standards throughout their lifecycle.
What you'll be doing:
* Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines, including inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on wind turbine components
* Perform maintenance on turbine blades, gearboxes, generators, and other key systems
* Document all work completed and maintain detailed records of turbine performance
* Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
* Provide technical support and mentoring to less experienced team members as required
What we're looking for:
* Relevant Australian Certified Electrical Trade
* Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Technician, preferably in a FIFO/DIDO role
* Strong understanding of wind turbine systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work safely at heights and in remote locations
* Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules to meet the needs of the business
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
* A Grade Electrical Licence – mandatory
* Vestas, GE, Goldwind WTG experience not essential but highly desirable.
* Current GWO/ART trained – Highly desirable.
* Heavy Vehicle License (HC/MC) – desirable
