The Venue & Theatre Services Officer is a job share role of 21 hours per week at the Blue
Mountains Theatre & Community Hub. The objective of the position is to provide excellent
customer-focused service to clients and patrons of the Blue Mountains Theatre. The scope
of the position includes ticketing duties at the Box Office, retail sales and facilitating Hub
venue hire. The position reports to the Program Leader - Blue Mountains Theatre &
Community Hub.

**Staff Responsibility**:This position works within a dedicated team of
seven staff located in Springwood.
**Key Internal Relationships**:Liaison with relevant Council staff including
Council's customer service staff, the Blue
Mountains Library staff; Council's assets and
property staff and relevant staff of the Blue
Mountains Cultural Centre located in Katoomba
**Key External Relationships**:General public, various external stakeholders
such as not for profit and for profit theatre user
groups, community groups and business groups.
Specialised support consultants and contractors.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
The position is responsible for the sale of tickets at the Blue Mountains Theatre Box Office,
either over the phone or in person. The position will also assist with administrative duties
relating to the Box Office system including reporting, event setup (if required) and daily
cash reconciliation. The position will also assist with rostering, customer liaison and venue
hire enquiries, bookings and setup.
**Box Office Responsibilities**:
- Provide a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Facilitate Box Office sales transactions via phone and in person.
- Reporting any unresolved issues relating to patrons / ticketing for resolution with
Facility Manager as necessary.
- Keep the Box Office area tidy and ensure that reasonable brochure stock levels are
sustained.
- Relevant staff training
- Ensure daily banking processes are carried out as per protocol.
**Venue Hire Duties**:
- Coordinate venue hire enquiries and bookings
- Coordinate room setups for venue hire
**Other Duties**:
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Program Leader - Blue Mountains Theatre
and Community Hub
Please note that this position may be required to work across a 7 day / week roster.
