Our client is delivering a mission-critical infrastructure transformation programme of national significance, operating within one of the most highly secure and tightly regulated environments in the country.
This programme is aligned to strict national security frameworks, including ACSC Essential Eight and ISM standards, ensuring that all infrastructure meets non-negotiable requirements for security, compliance and auditability.
Every system delivered through this programme must pass rigorous validation — meaning security hardening is not optional, it is a critical gating function before infrastructure can move into production.
About the role
You will enforce and validate security baselines across compute environments, acting as the final gate before systems are approved for live operation.
This role is central to ensuring the infrastructure is fully compliant, secure and audit-ready, with no deviation from required standards.
Key responsibilities
* Apply and validate ACSC Essential Eight, ISM and CIS benchmark controls across Windows Server environments
* Configure and verify Secure Boot, TPM, encryption and system-level security settings
* Implement and manage Group Policy, Local Security Policy and baseline configurations
* Use PowerShell DSC and automation tools to enforce and validate compliance
* Conduct pre-production validation and compliance checks across all hosts
* Produce detailed audit evidence, compliance reports and validation documentation
* Identify and manage exceptions, remediation requirements and non-compliant configurations
* Work closely with platform and build teams to ensure security is embedded throughout the pipeline
* Act as the authoritative checkpoint before systems are released into production
This role plays a critical function in programme success, ensuring that no infrastructure is deployed without meeting strict security and compliance standards.
The successful candidate
You are a security-focused infrastructure engineer with a strong background in hardening, compliance and audit-driven environments.
* 4–7+ years experience in Windows Server security and infrastructure hardening
* Experience implementing endpoint hardening, Group Policy and security baselines
* Familiarity with PowerShell DSC or automation-led compliance tools
* Strong attention to detail with a focus on audit, validation and assurance outcomes
* Comfortable operating in regulated, high-security environments
Mandatory requirement
* NV2 clearance preferred, OR NV1 with NV2 actively in progress (non-negotiable)
