Overview
Senior Stakeholder Engagement and Government Relations Officer (EA2025/180).
What you will do
- Contribute to executive support for the Chair, Board and CEO for external engagement, including identifying priority issues and coordinating briefing material and advice.
- Provide advice and support to other areas of the AER about best practice stakeholder engagement as part of ongoing projects, promoting proactive engagement with government, industry and consumer groups to achieve the AER’s strategic objectives.
- Engage and coordinate with internal stakeholders to support the AER’s external facing obligations and engagements, including participation in parliamentary processes (e.g., Senate Estimates and Inquiries).
- Work with staff across the agency to improve access to consumer insights (panels, focus groups, etc.), including leading secretariat support for the Customer Consultative Group.
About you
- A well-developed understanding or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the energy sector and the role, purpose and objectives of the AER.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while managing multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, including contributing to engagement activities and plans.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public policy, government, law, economics or related fields are highly desired.

Salary
Salary: $99,562 - $111,590 (plus 15.4% superannuation).
