About Cannington
Cannington is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead, with an underground mine and processing facility located in northwest Queensland. The operation also features a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

About the Role
This is a permanent position on a 7:7 day/night roster, with options for FIFO from Townsville, Brisbane, and Cairns or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry, and McKinlay Shires.
As Communications Technician, you will safely maintain communication infrastructure both underground and on the surface, ensuring equipment availability through preventative, corrective, and reactive work to the highest level of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, repair, and install communication equipment such as network links, DMR, fibre optics, and structure cabling
* Program Motorola digital radios and repeaters
* Commission and integrate new communication technology introduced to the site
About You
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
* Diagnosing and repairing faults using tools such as Spectrum Analyzer and OTDR
* Experience with 1SAP or similar
* Embedding safe work practices and taking ownership of team safety
* Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
Qualifications
* Certificate III in Electronics and Communications
* EWP
* High-Risk licence; Forklift, Doggers and/or Riggers (desirable)
