Full-time Carpenter Required in Townsville, QLD
Barring Constructions, Townsville, QLD, Australia, is seeking a motivated and organised Carpenter who takes responsibility and pride in their work and can join our team seamlessly. Experience in Building and construction with a solid Carpentry trade background is required.
Immediate Start, Remuneration package ($80k - $92k)
Skills and Experience
* Must be an experienced Carpenter with general knowledge and skills with their own basic hand tools/power tools/battery tools
* Qualified Carpenter or Cert III in Carpentry and white card (both essential)
* Multi-skilled with the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
Position Description
* Installs foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.
* Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter's level, plumb bob, and laser levels.
* Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
* Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
* Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.
* Ordering and selecting timbers and materials, and preparing layouts
* Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
* Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
* Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
* Cutting materials, assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts
* Erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying the trueness of structures.
* Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames
* Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.
* Cutting wood joints
* Constructs and installs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, and cuts, shapes and fits timber parts to form structures and fittings.
* Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
* Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repairs or replaces them using hand tools.
* Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
* Moves necessary materials around the jobsite as assigned.
* Repairing existing fittings
