The role will provide guidance and strategic direction for the specialties in the relevant clinical streams to ensure that there is a focus on service development and appropriate oversight of practices, trends and indicators. Ongoing assessment and improvement in operational processes and clinical outcomes is an inherent responsibility of this position. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the supervision, coordination and management of the specialty services and/or operations to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources. The Nurse Manager is to foster and maintain close professional relationships with relevant clinical managers, peers and District managers to achieve organisational goals. As a nursing senior manager it is essential to ensure that systems and processes are in place to support the Nursing/Midwifery Unit Managers to meet the standards outlined in the Nursing and Midwifery management Framework. This position will support the SWSLHD Strategic Plan as well as the facility/service operational and/or clinical service plan and any relevant service operational or strategic plans.
