Harmony has concentrated its elite Wagyu genetics and Fullblood breeding operations in the Murrindindi Shire, where the Murrindindi Aggregation is being developed into a major breeding hub and a key platform for the company's long-term genetic program.
With the herd growing toward 2,000 Fullblood Wagyu breeders across five properties covering approximately 5,000 acres, this is a significant livestock operation with scale, investment and long-term direction.
For the right person, this is more than a station hand position: it is a chance to work with high-value Wagyu cattle and contribute to outcomes that flow directly into Harmony's premium branded Wagyu program supplying chilled and frozen product to a global network.
The Employer
Harmony Agriculture & Food Company is a premium Australian Wagyu beef business producing branded beef for domestic and international markets.
The Murrindindi Aggregation is central to Harmony's Fullblood Wagyu breeding program. The operation brings together complementary properties across the district, each with a clear role: mature breeders and calves, maiden heifers, young-stock development, genetic recording and specialist cattle handling.
Together, these properties create a practical, scalable breeding platform focused on high-quality Wagyu calves and genetic improvement.
The Role
Working directly with the Aggregation Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day running of the Murrindindi Aggregation.
This is an active, hands-on role across livestock, property and infrastructure. Duties will include:
* Handling and husbandry of Fullblood Wagyu cows, calves, heifers and young stock
* Mustering, yard work, animal health treatments and livestock movements
* Supporting joining, calving, weaning and breeder management programs
* Working with maiden heifers, high-value cattle and mobs requiring closer observation
* Assisting with weighing, recording, young-stock development and performance monitoring
* Supporting AI, ET and genetic improvement programs where required
* Maintaining fencing, laneways, water systems, troughs and general infrastructure
* Operating vehicles, UTVs, machinery and farm equipment safely
* Assisting with pasture improvement, fertiliser, spraying and property redevelopment work
* Using, or learning to use, livestock and ag-tech systems such as AgriWebb, Farmbot, Farmo and Halter
You will be joining during a period of growth, with modern handling systems and practical technology used across the aggregation.
The Offer
Harmony offers a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary package based on experience. The role includes:
* Salary range of $80,000 - $100,000
* Modern work vehicle and CF Moto UTV
* 5 weeks annual leave entitlements
* Clear overtime structures for additional hours and weekend work
* Supportive team culture with practical, experienced leadership
* Genuine opportunity to grow with the business as the breeding program expands
The location offers an excellent rural lifestyle, with access to the Goulburn River, Mansfield and the Victorian High Country, while still being within reach of Melbourne.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a reliable, capable and ambitious livestock person who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a quality breeding operation.
You may already be an experienced Senior Station Hand, or a strong station hand ready to take the next step.
The successful candidate will bring strong cattle handling skills, a calm approach to livestock, practical property maintenance ability, reliability, honesty and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team.
Skilled working dogs are welcome but are not essential. Above all, Harmony is looking for someone practical, steady, observant, willing to learn and committed to building something of quality.
