Our client, a very large, Federal Government Organisation, responsible for foreign policy, relations & trade, are seeking the experience of a Mailroom Administration Officerto support secure mail handling, delivery operations, and administrative tasks within a high-paced, highly sensitive environment.
Duties of the Mailroom Administration Officer
* Prepare, label and weigh packages for international delivery;
* Register and receipt mail items;
* Load and unload mail trucks;
* Drive distances to deliver mail (such as Canberra to Sydney Airport);
* Arrange pickup times with mail carriers;
* Gather shipping quotes, as required;
* Assist in the preparation of diplomatic courier travel documentation;
* General accounts payable duties, including preparing and emailing invoices and following up outstanding invoices.
Skills and Experience Required
* Comfortable handling and lifting up to 30 kg in a hands-on, active role;
* Confident driving long distances to support operational needs;
* Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills;
* Proficient in MS Office applications;
* Excellent verbal and written communication, with a professional approach;
* Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities;
* Effective stakeholder engagement and customer service skills;
* Time and project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritise tasks;
* Skilled in information and records management.
