Role
We are seeking a highly flexible and skilled Classroom Teacher (P-12) to support whole‐school operations by providing high‐quality teaching across all year levels in the absence of classroom teachers.
This role is integral to ensuring continuity of learning, requiring an adaptable educator who can confidently work across Prep to Year 12, stepping into a wide range of learning environments and subject areas at short notice.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing classroom teaching coverage across P-12, following and implementing teacher lesson plans
* Maintaining a safe, orderly, and inclusive learning environment aligned with school and DET expectations
* Supporting student engagement, wellbeing, and positive behaviour across diverse settings
* Adapting teaching approaches to suit varying age groups, abilities, and subject areas
* Collaborating effectively with staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of programs
The ideal candidate will:
* Demonstrate the capacity to teach across a broad range of year levels (P-12)
* Exhibit excellent organisational, communication, and classroom management skills
* Be highly adaptable, reliable, and responsive to changing daily requirements
* Show a commitment to DET values, student wellbeing, and inclusive education practices
Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class:
* The person must have provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching; and
* If the person completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program or course of study on or after 1 January 2024, they must demonstrate that they have satisfactorily completed a postgraduate level accredited initial teacher education program that has been accredited by an Australian State or Territory Teacher Regulatory Authority as satisfying the requirements of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership 'Accreditation of initial teacher education programs in Australia: Standards and Procedures'; and
* A person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program after 1 July 2016 must also demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements (this condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian ITE program completed by the person).
