The Role: Head of Design
As the successful Head of Design, you will lead our design management team and play a pivotal role in establishing strong stakeholder and client relationships during the project's early stages and foresee projects to completion. Your responsibilities will include:
* Collaborating closely with estimating and delivery teams to develop work-winning strategies and value engineering proposals for efficient and cost-effective construction detailing.
* Mentoring and leading a team of Design Managers.
* Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the senior leadership team.
Qualifications and Skills:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:
* Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
* Minimum of 10 years' experience in a Design Management role for a builder.
* Proven Project Management experience with a deep understanding of Time, Cost, and Scope.
* Demonstrated experience in functional briefs, consultant scopes, and engagements.
* Experience working on a variety of building types with values exceeding $50 million.
* Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and ACONEX.
* Strong presentation and communication skills.
* Ability to maintain a positive temperament and professionalism.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
In addition to your core responsibilities, you will also:
* Effectively manage and coach Design staff, ensuring they meet their key deliverables.
* Provide design-related advice to the administration and construction teams during the initial design stage.
* Ensure all teams are working with the latest architectural information.
* Review consultant output and agreements for compliance with the design brief.
* Collaborate with administration and construction teams to resolve site coordination matters.
* Review and check client sales documentation for design accuracy.
* Assist with the updating of Certification documentation, Maintenance, and Purchaser Manuals.
* Maintain effective communication with consultants and provide feedback to the administration and construction teams.
