The primary function of this role is to oversee a team in the management and processing of all client Releases of Information (ROI), legal notices such as Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, subpoenas, court orders, and the release of sensitive client information. The position requires careful adherence to legislative requirements and organisational protocols in the handling and disclosure of protected client information.
As an EL1 Assistant Director in Information Releases, you will:
* Preparing well written and considered Clinical Incident Reviews, reports, and responses to clinical incident notifications and sensitive matters in accordance with relevant legislation and procedures.
* Working across multiple systems to complete Clinical Incident Reviews. This includes the review and collation of sensitive client information and preparing documents with high levels of attention to detail.
* Be required to undertake work that is complex in nature, work under limited direction with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability.
* Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, the development and review of policy advice and governance arrangements.
* Strong demonstrated experience in managing risk in mental health settings, including the ability to identify risks associated with clinical information with identified sensitivities.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve Section, Branch and Agency goals as part of the Commonwealth Government's broader business, by anticipating and responding to stakeholder needs.
Experience:
* Demonstrated experience working at EL1 level, or equivalent, in a governance or statutory role.
* Extensive experience managing FOI, Privacy Act requests, subpoenas, and legal correspondence.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of defensible decisions and senior executive advice.
* Experience in managing and leading teams in complex operational environments.
Candidates are required to submit a Statement of Claims with a maximum of 750 words to address their suitability against the role and responsibilities. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting Security clearance and be an Australian Citizen.
