Primary objective
Manage all phases of complex capital project delivery and be accountable in respect of time, cost, quality and communication
of assigned projects. Provide high-level advice and reports to executive management and agencies on the planning and
delivery of complex capital works projects and programs.
Context statement
The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure is the NT construction authority and is responsible for procuring and
managing infrastructure program projects for a broad range of NTG client agencies.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Project manage all phases of project delivery on assigned program items including the complex Capital Works projects.
2. Provide high-level advice to senior management on the planning and delivery of works programs including status
reporting, risk management, needs analysis, concept design, estimates and stakeholder feedback. This requires driving to
project sites and leading stakeholder meetings.
1. Undertake the role of Senior Project Manager and Superintendent's Representative on assigned works projects,
responsible to the Superintendent in the administration of contracts to ensure departmental policies, procedures and
Northern Territory Government legislation and construction standards are implemented and maintained.
1. Provide project leadership to construction teams to deliver work projects aligned with budget, time and quality targets.
2. Ensure client and key stakeholders are involved as appropriate in decision making and are properly informed at all stages
of projects, including events which may affect completion dates, costs or function of the delivered infrastructure.
6. Carry out all duties in accordance with relevant Work Health and Safety and environmental guidelines.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated high-level experience in a field of work closely related to the duties of the vacancy including delivering
complex Capital Works projects aligned with time, budget and quality targets.
2. High-level ability to lead, manage and advise a diverse group of multi-discipline resource teams on technical and
professional matters with a sound knowledge of project management and procurement processes.
3. High-level oral and written communication skills including report writing and the ability to effectively consult and
collaborate, and build strong professional working relationships with colleagues, external clients, the community and
industry representatives.
1. High-level knowledge of building industry, design, construction and maintenance techniques and relevant legislation and
standards to deliver quality infrastructure solutions.
1. Current NT Driver's Licence or the ability to obtain.
Desirable
1. Qualifications in project management, contract management, construction, business or similar.

requirement to undertake remote travel by road and/or air (including in a small aircraft).
